Filming Equipment | Canon Vixia HD HF R40 and Ritz Gear 70" Deluxe Premium Tripod
Hey fashionistas! I have gotten many questions recently on the camera equipment I use for my YouTube videos. I use the Canon Vixia HD HF R40 Camcorder for my YouTube videos. This camera I got in 2014 so it is a few years old, but still works perfectly fine and it is still available for purchase. I chose this camera because it is small and I did not want to buy a large camera for my videos because I already have one for photography purpose. This camera takes pictures and videos with great, high-definition quality. It is very easy to use and easy to travelwith. It also connects to the WiFi so you can automatically post it somewhere and it connects to an app so if you want to film from afar, you can use the app to hit record (similar to a remote) or stream it live. The app is free on any IOS device and is called the Canon Movie Uploader App. This camera also includes a 53x Advanced Zoom which stays HD and does not get blurry as well as SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization which keeps the video steady when in zoom. The camcorder also has auto focus which is extremely helpful when filming on your own and Dynamic IS which keeps the video sharp when you shoot in motion. A few more features it has are that it can record up to 3 hours of HD video on a 1080/60p recording in MP4 and AVCHD, it has a dual recording so you can record in both formats, and it even has a baby monitor mode. The camera comes with a charger, USB cord, and a large battery pack. One downside is that I find the footage can tend to be darker than in real life so make sure when using it, you have very bright lighting. Overall, I really enjoy using this camera because it does what I need it to and enhances the quality of my videos.
The tripod I use with this camcorder is the Ritz Gear 70" Deluxe Premium Tripod with Monopod (comes with carrying case). This tripod is extremely tall and is divided into three sections that you can extend. This makes it easy to manipulate the height to exactly what you want to. The middle part comes out and can become a monopod. It is very sturdy and durable and has not collapsed or fallen over since I have gotten it. There is also a leveling feature so you can see if the camera is leveled or not. I use this feature often when doing any type of fashion video to make sure everything looks straight. It also pans and tilts very smoothly and you are able to adjust this feature as well. If you do not want anything to move, there are many different areas to lock the tripod in place so it does not move. At the bottom, the feet are rubber and they have retractable spikes if you wanted to film outside and plant it into the ground. Overall, I love this tripod and have not had any problems with it in the year I have owned it.
I hope you all enjoyed this and it was informative! Let me know if you want to see a similar post on the equipment I use for blogging!
