Hello lovelies! One thing that I have seen a lot of people, online and off, be insecure about is their bodies and the way they dress. I believe that the wearing that favourite outfit can increase your self-confidence and that clothes do have a large impact on how people see their bodies. However, fashion should be a way to express yourself, not hide it. Many people feel they don't want to wear that body con dress or those skinny jeans because they think that it will not look good on their bodies. This is simply not true. Any clothing item can work on any body type, it just sometimes need to be styled differently to give the desired look and added comfort to love your look just as you are meant to. You should not have to feel insecure or nervous to wear the outfit you want to and you should not feel you need to change your outfit when you want to wear something fun and new.
Dia&Co. challenged me to face my fashion fears and try a new clothing piece that would make me step outside my comfort zone. I put together two looks for this. I often feel nervous about wearing bold patterns and tight dresses. For the first outfit, I have this tight dress with a bold striped blazer. I compensated for my fears by leaving the jacket open so it was not too overwhelming and going with a dress that is only tight on the top. This allowed me to face these fears while staying comfortable with what I was wearing. The second outfit was based around my fear for showing my arms. I have always been insecure with showing my arms in outfits simply because I think it looks weird and does not suit me. I decided to pair a tank blouse with a skirt and when I wore it, it was not as bad as I had always made it out to be. I find this is the case for many girls who express the same concern for their fashion fears. Wear something you want to for you, not for others! Fashion is a personal thing so only concern yourself with dressing for yourself and something that makes you feel good!
