Makeup Essentials: Reviews

09:35:00

Hey fashionistas! Many of you liked my last post about what was in my bag so here are some of my essentials that are usually in my everyday makeup bag.
SmashBox Camera Ready BB Cream
This is my current favorite BB cream! This product has great coverage without being too cakey or heavy. It is smooth to blend out and apply multiple times throughout the day. The only downside to this product is that it is a little pricy and usually hard to find as it is a very popular product.

NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Nude Peach Fuzz

I use this lip product every day and it is almost always in my purse or makeup bag. I use it either over my lipstick or just alone, but it is a gorgeous daytime colour and a creamy formula. This product can be found at most drugstores and is very inexpensive. However, if your lips are dry/cracked, it does not moisturize them, but instead it enhances them. This can be good for some people, but for others who want to cover their dry lips, it does not work out as well. I would recommend using a lip balm before using this product for better application.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sin
This product is my favorite highlight colour for my eyes. It is a shimmer shadow that has a pinky tint that just looks very romantic on the eyes, especially when it hits the light. It is extremely pigmented, but easily bendable. This is sold individually, but is also in the very popular Naked palette. The only downside to this is it is pretty expensive either way you get it and there are a few drugstore alternatives (they are just not as good).
Maybelline Lashsentational Mascara
I have mentioned this product various times on my YouTube channel or blog because I love it so much. I usually am a sucker for Maybelline mascaras because they are the best drugstore mascaras in my opinion. This product elongates the lashes and add volume and the brush curls the lashes. However, it can be flakey with prolonged wear.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Stick in 002 Bulletproof Beige
One of my favourite ways to quickly do an eye shadow look (that looks like I actually had enough time in the morning) are shadowsticks. I have found many in the past, but this Rimmel one is amazing. I like it the best because it has a thick diameter which covers more space at once and it very pigmented. This base also lasts throughout the day.  I use this colour the most because it is a light, goldy-bronze shade which complements my green eyes. I definitely recommend this product if you want to wear eye shadow, but never have enough time.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in 70 Barely Branded
This is another Maybelline product I always mention. Maybelline’s Color Tattoo line is my absolute favourite way to prime my eyes or use as a base. The product stays on all day (can even be hard to take off at night) and is completely waterproof. It is a good inexpensive alternative to primers such as the Urban Decay Primer Potion or the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer. If you want to wear it just as an eyeshadow and not as a base, it has great cover payoff no matter the colour. Currently, I use “Barely Branded” on a daily basis because it is a white, neutral, shimmery cream shadow, but I also use “Bad to the Bronze” for night looks as it is more bronzy and sultry.
Chloe Eau de Parfum Roller Ball Perfume
Recently, I have been into roller ball perfumes because they are so much easier to carry around and reapply throughout the day. I found this one at Sephora through recommendation as it is one of their popular scents and it is absolutely amazing. It has a sophisticated scent which is also feminine and slightly strong. I find that this product I can still smell at the end of the day especially when I apply it to my jaw and neck. The negatives of this product is that it is pricy and is a pretty strong scent so I do not recommend it for people that are not good with powerful scents. I hope you enjoyed this review and that it helped you out with your beauty essentials! xx
