DECA Provincials 2017 | Photo Journal

Hello lovelies! This past weekend I attended the DECA Provincial Business Competition in Toronto with my partner, Sam. I thought I would share my experience with you all as it is something I really recommend participating in. Back in the fall, my best friend and I signed up for DECA through our school under the Fashion Marketing Promotion Plan category. There are various different categories you can participate in that include entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and hospitality. In our category, we needed to do a multiple choice exam as our regionals application. With our combined scores, we qualified for provincials. Before we got to go to provincials, we had to create our written promotion plan for the recommended company that they gave us. However, if we were to do it over, we would do something unique and pick a separate company to do the plan for so that our presentation would stand out. Anyways, then it was time to head to provincials!
The first day we had to arrive super early in the morning to make registration on time. Then, my partner and I practiced our presentation and experienced the area for a little while until our presentation in the afternoon. We went into this small room and sat at a table with one judge behind a certain and presented our plan to her. We were quite proud of ourselves for pulling off an amazing presentation which the judge liked.

On the second day, we were back at the hotel for our multiple choice exam. This exam went pretty well for the both of us as we found it pretty straight-forward. We had a while between our exam and the awards ceremony so we went shopping again at the Eaton Center. Later, we came back and watched the awards ceremony which were very well done. We even had winners from our DECA chapter whom we were very proud of!
