Hello friends! Since back to school time is quickly approaching, I decided to put together a school drugstore makeup kit for anyone who is looking for new products or wanting to try makeup for school. I have included a few products that can be very versatile, are inexpensive, and of course, great quality.
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation, Rimmel Wake Me Up Highlighter, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Liquid Concealer, and Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation |
NYX Cosmetics Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette |
FACE
For face makeup, I am never the one to wear tons of products to school as I usually just use concealer to cover what I need to. However, I wanted to include many choices for different people. For foundation, I have chosen the Rimmel Stay Matte Cream Foundation and the Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation. Both are amazing prices, cover up well, are lightweight, and stay on all day. For oily skin, I would recommend the liquid foundation and the matte foundation for dry skin. If you need a primer, the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer is fantastic, but if you couldn't be bothered in the morning, using a great moisturizer will do the trick. For concealer, I have always loved this one by Covergirl as it lasts a long time and works as a great brightener under the eyes and on the high points of the skin. Of course, we have to set our makeup and my all-time favourite drugstore powder is the Stay Matte one by Rimmel. For highlighting and bronzing, I have included two options: the Rimmel Wake Me Up Highlighter and the NYX Strobe of Genius Palette. For a simple highlight, I recommend the Rimmel one and for people who like a little more, the NYX palette is very pigmented and makes everyone look like an angel.
Maybelline The Nudes Palette, Maybelline Lashsensational Mascara, Maybelline Liquid Liner and Gel Liner, and Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner |
EYES
Now, moving on to the eye makeup. I know most students do not wear much more than mascara and maybe some eyeliner, but again I wanted to include the best products for a natural look. On school mornings, I typically like to just use my liquid concealer for my primer and then set with powder which keeps my eye makeup lasting all day with no transfer. For shadow, the Maybelline Nudes Palette does the trick every time as there are so many looks you can make with it and it is perfect to just throw in your makeup bag. The shades are very blendable and the palette is definitely affordable. For eyeliner, I swear by Maybelline for this. Liquid liner is the easiest to use, but if you want to make sure that your liner will never rub off, I would recommend trying the gel liner because it will surely become a favourite once you have tried it. For mascara, there is no better drugstore mascara than the Maybelline Lashsensational mascara. This one adds volume and length and the applicator gives the perfect curl without the lash curler (especially if you use the waterproof version). This one, without a doubt, stays on throughout the day and complements any eye shape. Lastly, for people who like to fill in their brows, a great product is the Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner which in my opinion, is the exact same as the Anastasia Brow Pencil just without the large cost.

LIPS
The last part of this kit is the lip products (my favourite)! I included three for different people's comfort level as I know most students don't always like to wear bold lips to school (but others absolutely love it). The one I would recommend for a natural look is the Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Almond Rose as it is a nude colour with pink and rose tones which is just so complementing and simple. For an added bonus, this product makes for a fantastic cream blush. Another product is the NYX Liquid Lipstick in Prague which may look scary since it looks like a purple, but I promise it is the perfect deep lip colour for fall. It is not as dark as it looks and it is great if you are experimenting with lip colours. This range by NYX is perfect for that! Lastly, for anyone who needs a simple yet bold red lip, this one by Rimmel is my go-to. It stays on all day and is the classic red, but can be toned down if it is blended out.
I hope this helped and I am wishing all my fellow students a fantastic school year!
Lots of love xx
