How to: Incorporate Menswear into Your Style
11:39:00
Or AKA how to steal your boyfriend's/husband's/brother's, etc. clothes and style them to your look. Incorporating men's pieces into women's style has been an upcoming trend in the fashion industry. Collared shirts, tailored pants, and oversized blazers have all been prominent in street style in recent years. Not only are they comfortable, but they can add an interesting appeal to a classic outfit.
1. Incorporating a Men's Collared Shirt
For the first look, I chose to tuck this collared shirt into a skirt and belted it with a large belt so that it fits better. Since it is larger than a typical women's collared blouse, it adds a more laidback feel to a rather strictly posh look.
The second look I styled with this piece is to tuck the shirt into dark denim jeans. This adds a more posh look but by using a large, statement belt, it gives a new look to a strictly professional look.
2. Wearing Oversized Men's Sweaters
This is personally my favourite part of the men's fashion trend. Honestly, we all know that men's sweaters are so much more comfortable to wear than women's. Since they are so baggy, I recommend tucking it into a tightly fitted bottom (skinny jeans, skirt, etc.) for a more chic look. Here I paired this sweater with a tight, high waisted denim skirt from H&M.
I hope you enjoyed this new style guide and let me know if you want to see more of these!
I hope you enjoyed it! xx
